Bonang Matheba is undoubtedly one of the hardest working people in the South African entertainment industry

While she has achieved a lot in her career, the radio and TV personality just doesn't seem to stop. Fans will get to see a glimpse of her life in her upcoming reality show in July.

While the country waits for Being Bonang to hit our screens, we thought we'd share some facts you probably didn't know about the Top Billing host.

She was born in Mafikeng on 25 June 1987. Her parents divorced when she was five years old.

Bonang went to Fourways High school were she got a number of distinctions in matric - Geography, Science, Afrikaans, Travel and Tourism and Maths.

She wanted to be a grade 2 English teacher in Primary School.

She auditioned for the Live Lotto Draw, Rhythm City (Tshidi character), Real Goboza and Live Amp. The Live Lotto Draw told her that they wanted a white girl, while RGB told her she was not what they were looking for. She got a callback to play Tshidi on Rhythm City and after shooting the first episode, she was told that she can't act.

Her first house was paid off by the age of 23.

She got rejected a few times by Metro FM, YFM and Top Billing, and as you know, she later joined all three brands.

She was the first black woman to grace the cover of Glamour magazine.
